In Guilford and Vernon there’s a critically important primary on August 13 to decide who will replace Sara Coffey on the Democratic Ticket for the State Representative seat for Windham 1 come November. Sara is supporting Zon Eastes’ campaign.
Zon is opposed in this primary by the same guy who’s brought frivolous law suits against the town, which have been dismissed by the all the courts including the VT Supreme Court, but have cost the residents of Guilford nearly $50,000 in legal fees. The same opponent relentlessly criticizes the Selectboard for paying for this defense, while supporting the Republican challenger’s campaign?! This Democratic Primary challenger’s goal is to make a sham of democratic governance at the local level and beyond.
Throughout, in his life’s work and as Chair of the Guilford Selectboard, Zon Eastes has been a level-headed and responsible leader who has proven he will work tirelessly to represent Windham-1 in the state legislature.
Cast your vote at the polls on August 13, or get an absentee ballot at mvp.vermont.gov or your Town Office (Guilford M-W, 7AM-5PM, Vernon M-Th 7AM-5PM). Whether by mail or by drop box, best to have absentee ballots in your Town Clerk’s hands before August 12 (speak to town clerks for actual deadline), or bring them to the polling site on August 13. You can see if your ballot has been received by checking your voter page at mvp.vermont.gov.
Be sure to vote in this primary if you want to see Zon on the ballot in November!
